The FLA has been discontinued. This does not involve keeping track of training courses.
What has changed — and what hasn't
The FLA was a federal database in which employers were required to register employees’ training courses and training entitlements. That application has been discontinued. New registrations are no longer possible. Old data will remain temporarily accessible and will then be deleted.
This does not eliminate the need to manage training courses effectively internally. Sector-specific agreements, internal training plans, and the need to allocate budgets fairly remain. Without a system, this information will once again end up in Excel, invoices, and scattered certificates.
What Progreso’s Learning Management Tool continues to offer
Our LMS makes it easy to offer, manage, and track training programs. For each employee, you can track training time and budget. You can see which training programs are scheduled or have been completed. Reports for HR, managers, and the employees themselves remain available.
Efficiency and time savings. Administrative tasks are handled by the system, allowing HR to focus on better programs and genuine development rather than on record-keeping.
User-friendly interface. Both HR and employees can navigate the system without a hundred-page manual.
Access anytime, anywhere. Through the cloud-based solution, employees can access their training portal whenever it suits them. That makes continuous learning feasible, not just at the office.
Why this is still worth it
You are no longer subject to an FLA reporting requirement. However, you are building a training policy that stands the test of time. Employees can see their progress and remaining credits. Managers can see who is enrolled and which competencies have already been earned. HR plans based on data rather than assumptions.
Moreover, the risk of errors decreases: data is stored in one place, up-to-date, and ready for performance reviews, budget cycles, or a potentially future, simpler government system.
Conclusion
Continuous development is not a government portal. It is policy. The FLA is gone. Progreso’s Learning Management Tool continues to track training time and budget per employee, linked to the catalog, enrollment, and follow-up.
